People Watch: New York district hires new superintendent

 

Richard Calkins will lead Pocantico Hills, a small New York K-8 district, as of July 1. He has been the superintendent of the state’s Alfred-Almond Central School District in Allegany County for about 10 years. Calkins replaces Carol Conklin-Spillane, who is retiring as superintendent of the Pocantico Hills school district. Read more.

The school board for Pennsylvania’s Upper Perkiomen School District has hired the assistant superintendent at Spring-Ford Area School District, also in the state, as its next superintendent. Allyn Roche will take over for Alexis McGloin. Read more.
