People Watch: Abbeville County school board picks Julie Fowler

Fowler moves into the South Carolina district's top job following the death of Superintendent Betty Jo Hall

Julie Fowler, chief administrator of South Carolina’s Abbeville County School District, has been named superintendent following the death last week of Superintendent Betty Jo Hall. Fowler will hold the top post for the next two years. Read more.

In other people news:

Scott Golec, who resigned as the superintendent of Ohio’s Claymont City Schools, has been selected to lead the Rolling Hills Local School District, also in the state. The move comes a week after former Rolling Hills Superintendent Ryan Caldwell left the district under a mutual agreement with the board of education. Read more.

Tommy Branch will take over superintendent duties in January 2020 for Wayne County School District in Mississippi. He is currently a principal at Beat Four School in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Branch is replacing Bobby Jones as district leader. Read more.
