Parents and students protest over K-12 school mask mandates throughout the Central Valley

Mask mandate protests are happening throughout the Central Valley after indoor mask mandates expired statewide earlier this week for those who are vaccinated.

Most Central Valley school districts continue to follow state orders that require students to wear a mask in K-12 school settings.

Yosemite High School students protested on the football field chanting “no more masks”.

On Friday morning, another protest took place outside of Red Bank Elementary School in Clovis.

“Remove the masks from our children, at least give the children the choice to come to school without a mask so they can get their education,” says Brandon Marks, a community member attending the protest.

Marks says he’s going around the state trying to force the school board to drop the mandates with documentation backing up their argument.
