COVID after New Jersey homecoming lands nearly 200 students in quarantine

Four students have tested positive and nearly 2000 were quarantining following the homecoming dance.

Four Spotswood High School students have tested positive for COVID-19 and nearly 200 were quarantined following a homecoming dance at the Summerhill Road school last weekend.

Superintendent of Schools Graham Peabody said as of Friday morning 181 students have been quarantined because of possible close contact to the positive cases.

“That number has been going down as vaccination documentation has been validated,” Peabody said.

A notice posted on the school website Monday said a number of students had stayed home from school because they were not feeling well. In addition, several parents reported that after the dance some children were identified as having close contact to a COVID-19 case off school grounds.
