Illinois district announces new superintendent

Neuqua Valley High School Principal Robert McBride Jr. will soon take over Todd Wernet’s role as Lockport District 205 superintendent.

McBride will begin his new position as superintendent of schools July 1, after Wernet retires, according to a news release from the district.

“We are extraordinarily pleased with the outcome of this search process. In the end, Dr. McBride proved himself the best fit to carry forward the vision of the district,” said Ann Lopez-Caneva, president of the board of education. “His track record of driving instructional innovation and academic excellence … along with his passion for working with students and families, demonstrates his capability to lead our school district.”
