Buford City Schools names new superintendent

After nearly five months of searching, Buford City Schools has named a new superintendent.

On Wednesday, the Buford Board of Education announced that Robert Downs, who currently serves as assistant superintendent of Cobb County Schools, is the sole finalist and will be appointed as the district’s next superintendent.

Downs was selected among 92 applicants spanning 15 states, the board said.
