Twenty school districts have pre-purchased Transfinder’s app Stopfinder in advance of its official launch in early 2020.
“This communication tool allows districts to communication with parents either in large groups such as the parents of children who attend a certain school or smaller groups such as the parents of kids who catch the bus at a specific stop. Parents can also use this tool to communicate with the district. Say a parent sees workers making repairs near a stop that make the stop unsafe. A parent can take a photo and send it to the transportation office so changes can be made.” — Transfinder President and CEO Antonio Civitella.
Sharp Bus Lines recently added 60 Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses equipped with the new safety technology, including Perimeter View™ 360 camera package (PV360) and Mobileye collision avoidance. Sharp Bus Lines will use these buses for local school districts.
“Saf-T-Liner C2 offers a panoramic view for the driver, a low sloping hood, low instrument panel and A-pillar windows. A warning system from Mobileye N.V. helps prevent forward collision, pedestrian collision and lane departure.” — Caley Edgerly, President and CEO of Thomas Built Buses
