76 Alabama schools on ‘failing’ list

For the second year in a row, the Alabama State Department of Education, without comment, on Friday posted online the new list of schools declared “failing” under the Alabama Accountability Act.

It’s big news for parents who might want to move their child to a non-failing school. Finding the list, however, isn’t easy as state education officials posted it within their website without any announcement that it is available or direction on how to find the document.

State educations had not responded to questions from AL.com regarding the failing schools list prior to publication of this story.
