The superintendent of Lexington-Richland Five will continue leading the school district through June 2027 after its Board of Trustees voted June 26 to extend his contract by a year.
But Superintendent Akil Ross, who got the Chapin- and Irmo-area district’s top job in January 2022, did not get unanimous support from the board, as two of its seven members abstained from a vote that deemed his performance “effective” and one voted against the contract extension.
