Following significant transportation issues during Wednesday’s first day of school, Kentucky’s largest school system has canceled school for the rest of the week.
In a video posted Thursday morning, Jefferson County Public Schools Superintendent Marty Pollio called it a “transportation disaster” and apologized to everyone including students, families, staff and bus drivers.
A tweet posted at 5:14 a.m. said: “NO SCHOOL | Due to yesterday’s transportation issues, JCPS will not have school Thursday, Aug. 10 or Friday, Aug. 11. We will use the next four days to fix issues associated with the new transportation plan in order to ensure the safety and well-being of our students & staff.”
