6 Ohio elementary students charged in “Black Lives Matter” racial incident

Six students between the ages of 11 and 13 were charged in connection to the Feb. 10 incident in which a group of students reportedly forced classmates onto their knees and had them state “Black Lives Matter,” according to the Clark County Juvenile Court.

The charges include disorderly conduct and misdemeanor assault.

“Moving forward from this experience, the district is working closely with counselors, mental health experts and multiple community partners and agencies to provide support to children and staff directly involved, as well as those not directly involved,” a district statement said. “The district will use this experience as an opportunity to strive for greater acceptance, grow and reinforce community connections.”
