Since 2015, Mendoza has directed the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Instructional Technology Initiative, managing edtech integration for the nation’s second largest school system. The initiative covers AI literacy, computer science education, digital citizenship, Esports and cybersecurity. The Expanded Learning Opportunity Program created more than 500 computer science and esports clubs.
