McDade is the first woman and first African American to serve as superintendent of Prince William County Public Schools, which is the second-largest division in Virginia. Her Vision 2025 strategic plan prioritizes positive climate and culture, parent engagement and organization coherence to improve academic achievement. She developed a $1.76 billion Fiscal Year 2025 plan that commits 80% of spending to the classroom.
