Mullen, known as a student-centered leader, has been superintendent of the Rush-Henrietta Central School District in New York since 2023. She has also been a strong advocate for women who challenge the status quo as they aspire to reach the highest levels of K12 leadership. “If you like makeup, wear makeup. If you don’t, don’t,” she told DA earlier this year. “If you like fun shoes then wear fun shoes.”
