With schools closures again mounting in all parts of the country, the Biden- Harris administration hopes to counter omicron with a barrage of COVID testing.
President Biden has repeatedly said he wants schools to stay open, in recognition of the damage that remote learning has done to children and the low risk of transmission in schools.
In a statement released Dec. 16, President Biden said negotiations will "continue next week," adding that "it takes time to finalize these agreements, prepare the legislative changes, and finish all the parliamentary and procedural steps needed to enable a Senate vote."
