"The negativity out there is around a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding," says Shelley Berman, lead superintendent for SEL at AASA, The Superintendent's Association.

"When schools are up and going, the community can get back to normal more quickly," says Collier County Superintendent Kamela Patton.

More than a dozen schools suffered major damage in the School District of Lee County. Officials are still unsure when classes will resume.
