R.I. begins rebuilding schools after voters approve $250 million repair bond
The state's residents approved a $250 million school repair bond which would not only renovate existing school buildings, but also fund the construction of new ones. A "bonus system" would incentivize communities to move fast on school repairs.
Michigan district’s voters passed $130 million bond
Forest Hill School District voters approved a 15-year, $130 million bond proposal to create 21st century classrooms, and upgrade security and aging infrastructure. School leaders say most of the funding, 55 percent, will go toward modernizing over 550 classrooms.
