Strategic plan to make NC public schools ‘best in the nation’ approved

The Department of Public Instruction’s 37-page, five-year strategic plan, titled “Achieving Educational Excellence,” identifies three main components: high academic achievement, character development and making North Carolina public schools the best in the United States of America.
