A divided city Board of Education has ordered new Superintendent Carmela Levy-David to delete a video message recently shared with parents that some members claimed unfairly attacked the board.
The nine-member panel voted 6-3 this week to direct Levy-David to remove the short video from YouTube and ParentSquare, an online platform the school system uses to communicate with parents and guardians.
The vote came after several board members took exception to the Oct. 13 video, which was published a few days after Levy-David publicly clashed with board members during the latest in a series of contentious meetings.
