A student recorded their bus driver saying she would shoot someone if they continued to comment on her driving, according to a video.
The incident occurred last Friday on a bus from the Alpine School District. The driver, whose name has not yet been released by the district, has been placed on leave.
“She’s not even turning! She said she was going to turn,” said one of the passengers in the video. To which the driver responded, “If one more person says ‘Where are we going,’ I’m going to shoot them,” through the bus intercom.
After missing her turn, she is heard saying, “OK, now listen. I missed the stop. I’m trying to turn around. Do you understand? OK. Sit down and be quiet.”
The Alpine School District released a statement addressing the issue.
“We are aware of a situation on a bus today,” they said. “The employee is on administrative leave pending an investigation. We strongly condemn any threatening action or language directed toward others. We expect all employees to create safe and nurturing environments free of verbal or physical threats. Appropriate action will be taken to ensure this matter is addressed and not repeated.”

This time last year, another bus driver from the district was fired after displaying controversial signs on the bus.
Photos taken by a student indicate that the driver had displayed political and religious signs regarding gun control, abortion, socialism, free healthcare and education, and statements made toward the LGBTQ+ community. “An unborn child IS a child,” one of displayed images read (see below).
“Alpine School District has concluded an investigation regarding concerns with a bus driver,” the district said in a statement. “Although details of a personnel investigation are confidential, the driver involved is no longer an employee of Alpine School District.”
