Students from across Oregon rallied at the state capitol Monday, calling for the right to vote in some elections.
Monday morning, students and local leaders pushed for the passage of House Bill 3012, which would lower the voting age to 16 in non-partisan school board elections.
Students say the law would allow them to have a voice in their education and emphasize the importance of local elections. If passed on Tuesday, the new law would go into effect in 2029.
