When I was a CIO and I attended an event, I wanted it to be thought-provoking, to challenge me on a strategic level, and to provide me with takeaways that I could consider implementing in my district. I’m excited about the DA’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) Summits because our programs are designed to do all three. Our 2019 series will focus on “The Changing Role of the CIO.” We have engaged a powerhouse lineup of speakers who will provide practical leadership and strategic practices that you can take back to your district.

Beyond our speakers, our summits will provide hands-on learning activities to help you understand the content presented. Lastly, you will spend 2 ½ days working closely with your peers, establishing new and hopefully long-lasting professional relationships. I look forward to meeting, working and learning with you!

Our next summit is scheduled for July 22-24 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. We will take strategic IT planning to the next level, learning from experts, solution providers and peers from around the country.

Session topics include:

  • forging a strong relationship between IT and academics
  • strategic planning and implementation
  • cybersecurity

You will be able to access and engage with more than 70 K-12 technology decision-makers at this elite event.

“CIOs should attend this event because superintendents and school districts are requiring a new kind of approach when it comes to technology, curriculum and instruction,” says Robert Avossa, former superintendent of Palm Beach County schools and now senior vice president at LRP Media Group, publishers of DA. “Technology, curriculum and instruction used to be separate, but now they need to be integrated, coherent, comprehensive and strategic. This summit will help bridge that gap.”

Attendees may hold the following titles within their respective districts: CIO, chief technology officer, deputy CIO, deputy chief technology officer, assistant superintendent of technology, senior director of technology and other executives.
