New York Times best-selling author, philanthropist, and two-time Golden Globe winner Henry Winkler will inspire attendees at LRP’s National Institute® on Legal Issues of Educating Individual with Disabilities May 3-6, 2020, in New Orleans by sharing his personal story of overcoming adversity and his struggle with undiagnosed dyslexia.

Winkler has turned his challenges into a passion for advocating for children with learning disabilities through his support of numerous associations including the Special Olympics and United Friends of the Children, and his continuous work to raise awareness of the challenges many students face every day.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Henry Winkler will be the keynote speaker at LRP’s National Institute in 2020,” said Julie J. Kline, Esq., Executive Director, Education Content, LRP Publications. “Last year’s Institute keynote, actress, author, and activist Marlee Matlin, told attendees that Henry Winkler inspired her to follow her dream, and they had to hear him speak to understand his passion about children who learn differently. His personal story will uplift and surprise you.”

LRP’s National Institute® on Legal Issues of Educating Individual with Disabilities has been delivering unequaled professional development to educators for more than 40 years.

The May 2020 event at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, located in a historic area of New Orleans, will focus on keeping special education programs in compliance with federal education and disability law.

In addition to Mr. Winkler’s keynote address, LRP’s National Institute features two general sessions, more than 35 concurrent sessions presented by leading experts and special education practitioners, an Expo Hall filled with the latest innovations in classroom technology and new ways to improve students’ learning outcomes, and a community of special educators eager to network with like-minded peers.
