See which superintendents are on the move right now

Superintendent Gillian Chapman, who has led Wyoming’s Teton County School District #1 since 2015, is moving to Blue Valley Schools in Kansas to become that district’s next leader. She previously served as an administrator in the Shawnee Mission School District, where she spent 21 years of her career.

Superintendent Damon J. Wright of California’s Benicia Unified School District has been selected to take the helm of Santa Clara USD in June. A former school counselor and psychologist, Wright has also been an administrator at the Napa Valley and Fairfield-Suisun USDs.

Also in California, Alex Cherniss, who has led several districts, was chosen as the next superintendent of Beverly Hills USD. Cherniss has served as superintendent of the Placentia-Yorba Linda, Palos Verdes Peninsula and San Marino USDs.

New York’s Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District has tapped its next leader, Darcy Woodcock, who is now superintendent Tully Central School District. Woodcock has also been an administrator at Westhill Central School District and Syracuse City Schools.

In Texas, Aransas Pass Independent School District Superintendent Glenn Barnes is the lone finalist to become the next leader of Cleveland ISD. He was previously an assistant superintendent at Splendora ISD.

Chad Daugherty, who previously served as superintendent of the Huntington County Community School Corporation in Indiana, has been promoted by South Carolina’s Dorchester School District Two from deputy superintendent to superintendent.
