Maryland’s interim superintendent promises more transparency in public schools

Maryland’s new Interim Superintendent of Schools is promising to change the culture of public education in the state. Dr. Carey Wright has been on the job since October, and she’s already setting a new tone at the Maryland State Department of Education.

In her short time on the job, she’s already done something most public education officials simply refuse to do, sit down for an interview with Project Baltimore.

“Why are you doing this?” Asked Project Baltimore’s Chris Papst during last month’s interview.
