Fairfax County Public Schools (Virginia) will receive all of its library resources, including print and digital books, from Mackin Educational Resources for the next seven years. Mackin will also supply the necessary infrastructure and customization for all 234 schools.
The Easton-Redding-Region 9 School Districts (Connecticut) has selected First Student to manage and maintain transportation services for five years. First Student will replace the district’s entire fleet with 46 buses equipped with GPS tracking systems, digital cameras and three-point seat belts.
Austin ISD‘s 83 elementary and 18 middle schools will receive the DreamBox Learning K8 math platform to improve comprehension and close achievement gaps. The five-year agreement began after student scores rose by 82 percent during a six-month DreamBox pilot.
Trenton Special School District (Tennessee) will receive $3 million in upgrades from Johnson Controls, including a new technology center, STEM curricula, and the districtwide installation of Johnson Controls technology, such as LED lighting, water conservation equipment and an energy management control system.

The Kenton County School District (Kentucky) has reduced districtwide energy use by 4 percent using the Dude Solutions Energy Manager. This has led to Kenton County earning its sixth Energy Star distinction.
Quitman Public Schools (Arkansas) recently finished outfitting all classrooms with safe rooms from National Safety Shelters. The safe rooms can withstand EF5 tornadoes.
