Edtech grants are provided by state and federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies and philanthropic foundations.
Many awards are designed to support technology use in the classroom and promote innovation in general, while others focus on PD for educators and funding high-poverty schools.

The U.S. Department of Education Office of Educational Technology develops national educational technology policy and establishes the vision for how technology can be used to transform teaching and learning, and how to make anytime, anywhere learning possible for early learners through K-12, higher education and adult education. Its funding roundup page is an excellent starting point to research grants and funding sources for edtech initiatives.
The Foundation for Blended and Online Learning Innovative Educator Prize

The Innovative Educator Prize offers financial support for teachers and schools utilizing digital learning to overcome achievement gaps, drive engagement and personalize learning for their students. The award is designed to recognize and reward teachers and counselors who have demonstrated excellence in education in the blended and online setting. The foundation accepts up to 150 applications with the potential to award up to 20 one-time grants of up to $10,000 to winning proposals. Grants may be used for technology, professional development, curriculum and related materials.
Digital Wish

Digital Wish is a nonprofit that helps teachers solve technology shortfalls in their classrooms. Digital Wish also provides a searchable library of grants and fundraising ideas. To apply for grants, applicants must create a wish list of classroom tech needs, and share lesson plans and fundraising ideas with fellow educators. Grants are awarded on the 15th of every calendar month after the grant application deadline.
Michael and Susan Dell Foundation

The Michael and Susan Foundation seeks to fund projects that directly serve or impact children living in urban poverty, particularly in the areas of education, childhood health and family economic stability (including microfinance). Applicants must be able to demonstrate a measurable impact on children’s outcomes. Grant recipients must be able to show their progress toward helping children achieve their full potential.
