It could become easier for public schools in Arizona to hire police officers.
State Schools Superintendent Tom Horne took a victory lap Wednesday morning, celebrating a bill Gov. Katie Hobbs recently signed into law that expands Arizona’s School Safety Program.
Horne, at a press conference with a handful of current and former teachers, said House Bill 2074 “makes more police officers available because now we can hire retired police officers.”
