AI is already reshaping how students learn, how educators teach, and what it means to be ready for college, careers, and the future of work. But as AI adoption accelerates, schools are still working to build the policies, guidance, and professional learning needed to keep pace.

How can districts establish thoughtful approaches to AI use, equip educators with ongoing training and support, and ensure students are prepared to think critically in a world increasingly influenced by AI?

Drawing on new research and conversations with K–12 educators and district leaders, this 30-minute Ed Talk will explore what AI readiness really looks like in today’s schools.

The findings point to critical thinking about AI-driven content as a top priority, as education voices explore how schools can address gaps in educator preparedness, district guidance, and infrastructure while preparing students to question and evaluate AI-generated information and build the human and technical skills needed for an evolving workforce.

Bonus: Attendees who join the live event will be able to participate in a ThoughtExchange workshop to share and rank best practices from their peers.

Attendees will explore:

  • What new research reveals about the current state of AI readiness in K–12
  • Why critical thinking about AI-generated content is emerging as an essential student skill
  • How AI is changing expectations for teaching, learning, and career readiness
  • How educators can help students evaluate AI outputs rather than simply accept them
  • What K–12, CTE, and industry can learn from one another about preparing students for an AI-enabled future
