These 15 big city suburbs have the best schools in the U.S.

They are mostly outside of a handful of major metropolitan hubs: New York City, Austin, Chicago, Philadelphia and Boston.

The cities and towns with the best schools in the country, according to real estate site Niche, do not represent vast swaths of the country. In fact, they are mostly in affluent suburban districts outside of a handful of big cities: New York City, Austin, Chicago, Philadelphia and Boston.

What’s more, these suburbs are overlapped by some of the same high-performing systems and some of the top-ranked schools in the nation. Here are the leading locations, with the districts that serve them:
