The Uvalde school district has picked its new superintendent after a year without a permanent leader, as a large Florida district and a half dozen others also filled vacancies at the top.
Schools across 42 states and Washington, D.C. saw students take part in the "week of action," which was coordinated by the gun safety advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety.
Uvalde’s embattled school police chief on Wednesday could become the first officer to lose his job over the hesitant response by hundreds of heavily armed law enforcement personnel during the May massacre at Robb Elementary School.
