Oklahoma state school board wants to register students’ immigration status

Oklahoma schools would record parents and students’ immigration status and enrollment under a proposal from the state school board superintendent, Ryan Walters.

Over the past four years, Walters says he estimates that Oklahoma spent more than $470 million education children of undocumented migrants.
