District Administration is now accepting nominations for its National Awards Program, DA Awards of Distinction, honoring outstanding K12 school districts and visionary leaders nationally.
DA Awards of Distinction 2025 recognizes and celebrates innovative initiatives that delivered measurable results and revolutionized education within school districts. Sharing these successful models helps educators in other school systems build similar programs to foster positive change.
There are four big categories:

- Superintendent of the Year

Districts of Distinction
Who will win: Districts that have implemented innovative, home-grown approaches to tackle educational challenges, improve student achievement or enhance community engagement in the following categories:
- Future Focused Schools
- EdTech Innovation
- Academic Excellence
- Special Programs
- School Safety
- Wellness
Women of Distinction
Who will win: Women whose exceptional leadership skills inspire and empower educators to achieve their full potential, resulting in improved student outcomes, increased graduation rates and other educational opportunities. This category also recognizes candidates who have championed educational equity, advocated for inclusive policies and promoted opportunities for marginalized student populations.
Superintendent of the Year
Who will win: Bold and courageous leaders who have shown unparalleled dedication to fostering academic success, cultivating culture, building strong and innovative systems, and driving transformative change. Nominees will also have built strong partnerships with parents, community leaders and local organizations.
Leaders of Distinction
Who will win: Extraordinary superintendents, cabinet and technology leaders, and principals who have spearheaded transformative initiatives, demonstrated a clear and inspiring vision for their district and created a culture of continuous improvement. Strong consideration will be given to nominees who successfully engage teachers, staff, parents and other community stakeholders in the decision-making process.
DA Awards of Distinction: Key dates
- October: Finalists from each award category will be notified.
- December: Winners will be announced at the District Administration Leadership Institute Superintendent Summit on Dec. 18-20 in Charlotte Harbor, Florida. This event brings together influential education leaders nationwide to share insights, strategies, and best practices.
- January 2025: Award recipients will showcase their accomplishments at the Future of Education Technology Conference, where they can connect with educators from around the globe.
