Scott Kuykendall set to become Calif. county superintendent

A former West Side resident and Orestimba High graduate will soon be stepping into his new role as Stanislaus County superintendent of schools.

Scott Kuykendall, who was raised on a rural Crows Landing ranch and graduated from Orestimba in 1989, will be sworn into office on Jan. 7.

He will oversee the 1,100 employees who comprise the Stanislaus County Office of Education, administering a variety of direct programs and providing a variety of support services to the county’s school district.
