Two senate bills that would set drug testing policies for school employees and school board members have failed in the Senate.
SB 2310, would have mandated school board members be randomly drug tested at least once a year during their term. Sen. Richard Marcellais, D-Belcourt, the bill sponsor, said a rise in drugs coming into North Dakota led to him bringing this bill forward.
The other bill, SB 2337, would have made school boards create a drug testing policy for “administrators, teachers, coaches, ancillary staff, and any other individual who receives remuneration for services provided to the school district.”
