VT leaders unite for early education photo op with Jennifer Garner, but split on solutions
Burlington child care center hosted actress Jennifer Garner, Gov. Phil Scott, and legislative leaders on Thursday morning for an event highlighting the importance of early childhood education.
The “13 Going on 30” star, who visited the state on behalf of advocacy group Save the Children, emphasized how important early years are for brain development and lauded Vermont for bipartisan efforts to make additional investments in child care.
A coalition of Vermont lawmakers have proposed a nearly $30 million package this year to expand early education and child care access in Vermont. But the officials at Thursday’s event were not ready to sign on to the allocation.
