Two reading and language arts games released

SimplyFun, LLC., publisher of award-winning educational board games, releases two new Reading and Language Arts games, Wake Up Stars, a storytelling game developed by renowned board game designer Dr. Reiner Knizia and Lily Pond, a game to help build foundational reading skills.

“We’re excited to launch two new SimplyFun games for early learners,” said Stacy Longstreet, Director of Product Development and Sourcing at SimplyFun. “These two games, Wake Up Stars and Lily Pond, touch upon important early learning and developmental skills.”

Wake Up Stars is for two to four players ages three and up. Players collect stars by sharing stories about what makes them feel like the face on each star. By identifying, acknowledging and managing their emotions, kids gain important skills to navigate life. They also practice empathy and build social relationships by talking about how someone else might feel based on the expression on the star they have chosen.

Lily Pond is a great game for preschoolers that helps them learn to identify the letters in the alphabet and spell their first words. The game is also scalable so that once they have mastered the three-letter words, they can move up to four and five-letter words. Lily Pond is for two to four players ages four and up.

Reading and Language Arts is one of the four skill sets that SimplyFun focuses on in game development. This skill set encompasses beginner reading, writing and spelling skills, listening and verbal communication, vocabulary and language use, literature and storytelling, and reading comprehension. Other skill sets at SimplyFun include Math and STEM, Life and Thinking Skills and Social Sciences and Studies.
