Schools struggle to find teachers for English language learners

Schools in New York are finding it difficult to secure teachers specifically trained to serve their non-native English speakers.

A report from the state School Boards Association revealed that 20 percent of district superintendents have a shortage of teachers for English language learners, while 52 percent said they struggled to fill the positions.
