Leading LMS Chosen to Support District’s Ongoing Pledge to Digital Learning Transformation and Personalized Learning

Boston, Jan. 30, 2019–Oconee County Schools (OCS) has chosen to expand its partnership with itslearningafter successfully piloting the company’s learning management system (LMS) of the same name. itslearning was piloted last year to support the district’s initial digital learning conversion to a 1:1 initiative. OCS is now expanding the use of the LMS district-wide to all teachers.

OCS piloted the itslearning LMSwith 80 teachers across the district and ultimately chose the LMS for its robust content management and extensive library of more than 5 million carefully vetted K-12 resources. OCS was especially interested in the itslearning standards-based content library, which enables the finding, sharing and reusing of content from teachers and educational publishers. itslearning also offered customizable course templates that can be easily replicated and shared with other teachers and a unique recommendation engine for more personalized learning opportunities, enabling teachers to reach all their students, regardless of where they are.

“We needed good quality, standardized content that teachers could select, so the library became one of our ‘must haves,’” said OCS Director of Technology Mike Hale. OCS was also in need of an LMS that would support their 1:1 initiative and integrate seamlessly with its existing programs and software.

“itslearning offered a one-stop-shop for the features we required,” Hale said. “There are quite a few good LMSs out there, but the trick is to find the one that has specific strengths that align with exactly what you’re looking for – and that’s what we found with itslearning.”

After a successful pilot, OCS rolled out the LMS district-wide in all schools in 2018 to support their 1:1 initiative. By the fall of 2019, the 1:1 initiative in OCS will encompass all schools and grade levels except kindergarten and first grade, which will have a 2:1 student-to-device ratio.

Designed specifically for the K-12 market, itslearning helps improve personalized learning in and out of the classroom. Its intuitive LMS features –including curriculum management, communication, collaboration, and analytics reporting –effectively connect teachers, parents and students to create differentiated learning solutions for every student.

“It is always our goal to help schools accomplish their edtech goals,” said Arne Bergby, CEO of itslearning. “OCS’s partnership with itslearning has helped the district successfully create a 1:1 learning experience for the majority of its students. As this partnership continues and grows, we look forward to the enhanced learning opportunities that will be created for students district-wide.”
