Massachusetts Mayflower Academy Celebrates 2019 Graduates

Boston — June 24, 2019— Massachusetts Mayflower Academy, a nonprofit full-time online private high school powered by The Virtual High School(VHS Inc.), is honoring the Graduating Class of 2019, its second class of graduates. Johanna Levie, Kerry Fitzgerald, Alexander Silveri and Yalith Axelson graduated from the academy on June 6.


“It is very rewarding to congratulate another dedicated, hard-working class of seniors at Massachusetts Mayflower Academy,” said Carol Ribeiro, President & CEO. “This year’s graduating class is a representation of how online learning can be invaluable to students with diverse goals and interests, from aspiring dancers and culinary masters, to future physical therapists. We wish our students much success in college and beyond and look forward to discovering what the future holds for them as they pursue their dreams. We know their futures will be bright!”


Levie successfully balanced working her enrollment in Massachusetts Mayflower Academy with training in classical ballet at the Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago. Levie will be participating in an intensive dance program at the Milwaukee Ballet for the summer and returning to Joffrey Ballet next year.

Fitzgerald plans to focus on her passion for the culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University. JWU, located in Providence, Rhode Island, is well known for its culinary arts program and is the largest food service educator in the world.


Silveri has been accepted to four different colleges and plans to take a gap year after graduation to consider his options. Silveri received his diploma at an in-person ceremony hold on June 6th.  Massachusetts Mayflower Academy faculty and administration were on hand to celebrate his achievements, along with members of his immediate and extended family.

Axelson will be attending Boston University next year. She has been accepted into their Physical Therapy program.
US News & World Reportranks the Boston University Doctor of Physical Therapy program as among the top 6% in the nation.
