Boston– September 19, 2019– Some educators and media outlets have recently expressed concern that an increase in screen time may be harming students. Others believe that we should use the best technology tools available to personalize student learning and differentiate instruction. On September 24, EdWeek will host a panel of experts who will engage in open and candid dialogue on the value, impact and importance of technology and blended learning in education and share thoughts about the recent media scrutiny regarding the use of technology in classrooms.

Among the panelists will be Jessie Woolley-Wilson, CEO of math educational technology company DreamBox Learning, and Nick Gaehde, president of language and literacy educational technology company Lexia Learning. Tom Vander Ark, CEO of learning design firm Getting Smart, will moderate the event. These edtech leaders will discuss the challenges, benefits and future of technology in the classroom. Joining them will be Felecia Evans, principal of Lander Elementary Schoolin Mayfield Heights, Ohio, who will share firsthand knowledge of the impact that technology has had on the students in her school and district.
