Impero Software Expands its U.S. Presence with the Hire of Jeremy Peters as VP of Sales
Peters brings experience as a teacher and edtech professional to his new role
Austin, TX, June 05, 2019 – Impero Software, a specialist provider of remote monitoring and management software for education, is continuing to expand its U.S. team with the hire of Jeremy Peters as VP of Sales. Impero is doubling the size of its U.S. headquarters in Austin to support its growing U.S. customer base. It hired a Senior VP of Sales Michael Watt in February to lead the Austin office and Impero’s U.S. expansion.
“As we continue to grow, we are looking for employees who have experience working in the technology sector and who have a passion for education,” said Watt. “Peters’ perspective as a former educator and his experience in the technology sector make him a great addition to our Austin team.”
Peters worked for more than a decade in Chicago Public Schools where he served as a high school history teacher and technology coordinator for students in high-need communities on the city’s South Side. Peters has also worked with several educational technology and marketing companies including Sphere Software, MDR, Coding Dojo and Blackbaud. He has worked with schools throughout south Chicago, Colorado, and across the U.S.
“I’m a big believer that technology, when used appropriately, can enhance learning and drive innovation in education,” said Peters. “I’ve also seen the tragic consequences that can result if students use it inappropriately and without oversight. Impero’s products help schools safeguard students while opening opportunities to improve instructional outcomes for students and I’m glad to be part of the team.”
Impero Software’s flagship product, Impero Education Pro, provides schools with a portfolio of services: Impero EdTeach for classroom management, Impero EdProtect for student safety and Impero EdAdmin for network management. Impero Software also recently announced the launch of EdAware, a next-generation digital student safety solution that records, analyzes and stores multiple types of student safety information, from depressive episodes to risky online behavior, to help identify potential safety risks.
Peters said he wants to expand the use of Impero software as a tool to support instruction. “Our software helps teachers and administrators figure out how to deliver improved instructional quality and better outcomes through adoptions of 21st Century teaching,” he said. “I hope to bring greater awareness to these key features and how they support teaching and learning in the classroom.”
