Desiree Peterkin Bell Joins American Reading Company (ARC) Advisory Board

Desiree Peterkin Bell is a highly respected, award-winning communication and brand strategist and two-time bestselling author. As president and CEO of the public affairs firm DPBell & Associates, she has served as a trusted advisor to a dynamic group of American cities and leaders for more than 20 years.  Desiree’s impressive career includes roles as the Director of Communications and Strategy for the City of Philadelphia and former Mayor Michael Nutter; Director of Communications for Newark, NJ, Mayor Cory Booker; VP of Government Affairs for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration; and the Senior Advisor of Communications for Obama for America – Pennsylvania in 2012.  Additionally, she served as Senior Advisor to the CEO of the Democratic National Convention Committee and her team after leading the drafting and negotiation of the successful bid for Philadelphia to host the DNC in July 2016.
