People Watch: Brent Stephens chosen to head up California district

The Berkeley Unified School Board has appointed Brent Stephens as the new superintendent of the California district. He is currently the chief academic officer of San Francisco USD. Stephens will replace Donald Evans, who is retiring. Read more.

Greggory Fuerstenau has been hired to lead the Litchfield School District in Illinois after serving for 13 years as the superintendent for the Taylorville public schools, also in the state. He replaces interim Superintendent John Mullett. Read more.

The Northbridge, Massachusetts, school committee has tapped interim Superintendent Amy B. McKinstry for the permanent position. She has been with the district for five years, previously serving as director of curriculum, instruction and assessment. Read more.
