Literacy app now available for iPads
Lexia Learning, a Rosetta Stone (NYSE: RST) company, has released the Lexia PowerUp Literacy (PowerUp) app for iPad and it is now available in the App Store. This release helps
increase classroom efficiency by leveraging personal devices to promote student-driven mobile learning. The PowerUp app for iPad joins the Lexia Core5 Reading, Lexia RAPID Assessment, and myLexia iPad apps, making the entire Lexia Learning K-12 literacy portfolio available on iPad.
PowerUp is designed to enhance core English language arts (ELA) instruction for struggling and non-proficient readers in grades six and above. PowerUp accelerates the development of both fundamental literacy skills and higher-order thinking skills through adaptive learning paths. By design, the program addresses the needs of students in the three areas critical to reading success: Word Study, Grammar, and Comprehension by identifying skill gaps and providing personalized, systematic instruction. High interest original and authentic texts, gamification, and respect for student maturity keeps adolescent students engaged. Embedded progress monitoring, actionable data and scripted lessons empower teachers to deliver the exact instruction each student needs.
“Now that PowerUp can be easily accessed from any iPad, districts and schools can leverage their mobile devices for adolescent students who need extra ELA instruction,” said Lexia President Nick Gaehde. “Students now have increased mobility in their learning and are able to access PowerUp from home on their school-issued iPad. This adds on a whole new level to the student-driven aspect of PowerUp, which helps to accelerate literacy gains for struggling students.”
The Lexia PowerUp for iPad app was launched with support for the iPad and iOS 10 or later. Schools and districts can easily integrate the PowerUp iPad app with their existing infrastructure since Clever login, single sign-on (SSO) via SAML and mobile device management systems are supported.
