K–3 literacy success levels soar in Ohio district using innovative program

When the Niles City Schools in Ohio received a “D” grade on the state report card for K–3 literacy scores, the district’s administrators gained a new sense of urgency to improve literacy instruction.

NCS became one of eight pilot districts in a new program from the Ohio Department of Education designed to strengthen evidence-based early literacy instruction.
