The LAUSD's board of education approved i-Ready and Ready Mathematics for grades 6 through 8 for Instructional Mathematics Materials for English Learners. In November, the Board approved i-Ready Diagnostic and i-Ready Instruction for reading and mathematics for grades K8 for its Evidence-Based Interventions for State-Identified Schools.
Raising math achievement for English learners
The Council of Great City Schools and LAUSD estblished a nationwide “bench of contracts” with Imagine Learning, Inc. and two other publishers who have met the Council’s quality criteria for EL math materials. Other school districts can now also use these contracts to purchase vetted materials to support teachers of English learners.
