SPS superintendent to withdraw school closure plan amid community division

The superintendent of the state's largest school district is expected to drop a controversial plan to close schools in Fall 2025. Dr. Brent Jones made the announcement in a letter to Seattle Public Schools families, saying the $5.5 million money-saving proposal was dividing the community.
