Accord School students in Norwell turn financial literacy lesson into act of kindness

Students were learning about financial literacy. The class was given $400 to shop for holiday gifts, but they decided to raise the ante. They started with doing chores to add to the pot.

Schools in Andover will be closed again on Tuesday, November 14. It will be the third day the approximately 5,600 students in the district will miss classes.

Both sides resumed negotiations Sunday afternoon at town hall, a day after the union said "significant progress" was made during 14 hours of talks on Saturday. The state department of labor has also sent a mediator to help with communications between both sides.

The move helps 22 smaller districts across the state. Without this program, the districts would have had to wait until next spring to be paid back for the increased busing costs. Many just didn't have the money in their small budgets to cover the increase.
