A Florida teachers union calls for superintendent removal

School board members are expected to discuss the performance of Palm Beach County’s embattled schools superintendent at an in-person meeting. The discussion comes the same day the Classroom Teachers Association’s president announced he would ask board members to fire Superintendent Donald Fennoy, saying teachers have “lost all faith” in his ability to successfully reopen campuses.

“CTA has tried to work with the current superintendent, but we have lost all faith and now have zero confidence that a righting of this rudderless ship is possible without immediate change,” union president Justin Katz wrote in a message to teachers.

Calls for Fennoy’s removal have grown as the school district suffers through its worst crisis of confidence in recent memory.
